Honoring Those that Keep YouTube Legit
YouTube community contributors are a large group who volunteer their time to maintain a healthy and safe online ecosystem. They answer thousands of questions in the help forum in multiple languages. Contributors make YouTube content more accessible and global by subtitling and adding captions to videos. They also
report videos that may violate YouTube's Community guidelines. Some of these contributors are also content creators themselves and assist with video production. YouTube finally gives this tireless group of people the recognition they deserve.
This 3-day inaugural event at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco is to motivate and celebrate YouTube community contributors and to launch the official YouTube Heroes program.
Of the 150 attendees 80% are international. For many, it’s their first time to California, and for some, their first time outside of their own country. English is a second language for most of our attendees, so, language translation is offered at the general session. The save the date, invite, agendas and welcome notes are also translated into the following languages: French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Bahasa (Indonesia), Vietnamese, Thai, Russian, Korean, Japanese, and German.
The YouTube Contributors program is a global community of caring and compassionate users actively improving the YouTube experience. Contributors share knowledge with others, make videos more accessible, and report content for review. Contributors gain access to exclusive workshops, the YouTube team and sneak preview product launches.
