Thinking Outside the Google Sandbox
The Google for Education ISTE experience drives awareness of Google tools and devices for education. The immersive design takes inspiration from past “Sandbox” experiences at events like Google I/O and Google Next. Prior show designs have a “classroom” look and feel—the team pushes the education concept much farther. Sparks gives life to the “Ready. Set. Go.” campaign while keeping that “Google-y” feel.
Chromebooks of all colors and types own the front of the ISTE exhibit where attendees demo and interact with live classrooms and presenters. Google Earth and Google Expeditions keep attendees engaged with live demos. The help desk, Jamboard, is the place to go for, well, help. A Be Internet Awesome module promotes digital citizenship and safety. Attendees play the interactive game, Breakout EDU, for leaderboard status. No education experience would be complete without a social engagement wall complete with a picture mosaic interactive. Tweeters who give Google for Education props get Google Cardboard from a vending machine. With usual Google flare, Google for Education unveils a few surprises; initiatives never before seen at ISTE.
The Google for Education ISTE product showcase can be summed up with the equation → G Suite + Classroom + Chromebooks = smart kids!
